Public Meeting - Saturday November 28th @ 6pm EST (open at 1pm)Am calling an open meeting on 11-28-09. It's been too long!
As last time, I will make myself available (as will Ms. Jolly) around 1pm via voice and text communication. Deliberation for meeting points should be had at THESE TIMES in order to facilliate a quick and to the point voting of the points previously brought up. These items will, after clarification and initial vote, be voted on for final ratification during a meeting that will be held later. The scheduling for this as yet unknown meeting will be decided at this meeting.
My role as Records OfficerDearest Constituants, No deadlines or rules as to the frequency and time limit for records exists. It seems that I have not made them available in a desirable amount of time. I would like to correct this so that I may do my job better, and so that I am held accountable for my position and all that it entails. If I have overlooked some information relevant to my post, I fully expect you, the constituants, to not let it escape my review. In light of this, I would love to hear suggestions on deadlines, methods in which the records are kept/posted, etc. I will be starting a new forum thread for this discussion here, and my hope is that a system can be put in place that is agreeable for everyone. Also, there has been an official request for records for a few things, and those will be made available and easily found. I am not yet sure how this will best be done, however, it will be completed within the next day or two. Thank you for your continued patience as I further understand my role as Records Officer,
Is Color a new limited resource?I was reading this article recently about the ownership of the color spectrum. I really think that this discussion topic really brings to bear the fear that culture can be owned. I can imagine a day when an artist is given a takedown notice, or a public display license requirement, for using something that is owned. It is interesting to see how far this is going and even more interesting to imagine possible enforcement in the future.
Christian Engstrom Explains The Pirate Party's Position: Freedom To Communicate; Freedom From Privacy Invasion Christian put out a blog recently here. If you didn't know he is one of our* two EU representatives that the Pirate Party has right now. I found this a pretty great article that explains a lot in very few words.

Another possible ad from the non-net neutral future
Lets find all the misinformation and bad propaganda we can find about Net Neutraility
The telecos have really been working overtime spreading lies and misinformation about the net neutrality argument. We should collect all of it in one place so we can know what we're up against. Please post video, audio, or talking points you find in the world here so we can start putting them together!
Cory Doctorow speaking about the global Copy-FightCory makes a good long point about cultural ownership and the fight for information freedom.
